Dominique BERGERET is a painter and mosaic designer He won an award in 1972 from the “Fondation de la Vocation”. He has been working as an artist in Franche-Comté since 1970.
He graduated from the famous Italian Art school in Ravenne. He has a passion for Byzantine as well as Roman traditions and in his reproductions he remains faithful to the spirit of ancestral techniques to which he pays particular attention.
Besides Dominique BERGERET is a witness to his own time, and as such, he is first a contemporary artist who creates, composes and makes, on demand, unique works, sculptures, ornamental tiling mosaics and wall mosaics, fountains and so on.
He exhibits in France and abroad. His architectural works vibrate on the floors and walls of both public and private buildings. Keen on new experiences, new ways to explore, new techniques to use, he works mosaics for its self , not as a “painting for eternity”.
Because of its own colour, shape and texture every material has a life of its own and a specific interest. In his works Dominique Bergeret particularly likes the harmony of synergy coming from the oppositions in materials.
